Western Serpent River

There are Three Serpent Rivers of Styx, the Eastern Serpent flows into the Chasm of Umbrae, the Northern Serpent skirts around the Leshivoi Forest to its north, the Western Serpent of Styx does whats unthinkable and goes straight into the dreaded forest.

The people of Styx have many tales of the horror of the Leshivoi Forest and they have an equal amount about the things that dwell in the river where it meets the untold horrors between trees.

Despite all of this the people of Styx depend on the forest and the river, using the current of the water to transport wood cut in the Leshivoi Forest into the city of Styx to be processed there. Boaters also frequent the river as a transport and passenger route and there is said to be the rare and foolhardy captain who attempts to take a ship through the heart of Leshivoi Forest as well.

While not as polluted as the sludge-ridden Northern Serpent River the Western Serpent still carries enough toxic waste to make people who are foolish enough to drink its water unfiltered seriously ill.
