Sorcerer

Not all choose to gain magical abilities, some have their powers thrust upon them against their will. By Blood or by interference, these individuals are flooded with abilities beyond even Grand Wizard's comprehension, and garned the name Sorcerers. Often revered or shunned, their form changes to reflect their power source.
The child had the skin of a dragon but the appearance of an elf. From their hands shot fire that danced along to the song they sang, unaware they mastered the magic better than most ever will

Flavour

  • Source of power, if through circumstance
  • How has the power affected your personality
  • Do others treat you different now, than before
  • Do you enjoy or regret this power
  • Career

    Qualifications

Sorcerers are not made, they are chosen. The subject is not able to influence whether they will be chosen or not.   Their abilities are able to be certified though as certifying bodies (such as Certification Bureau) certify magic based on spell usage, not source of magic or control. If a sorcerer can cast a spell, but a wild magic surge occurs, they should still be eligible for certification

    Career Progression

Progression is different to each Sourcerer, as some consider their abilities to be a curse, so their progress is the masking of their abilities.   To others, it is a gift and the growth of their control is their progress. In this case, the Sourcerer can expect great certifications and work to utilise their magical abilities.

    Other Benefits

Depending on the source of their power, a sourcerer can expect there to be benefits from those of similar beliefs.   The most common source is that of Draconic Heritage, which often gives the sorcerer some of the traits of their forefathers. Dragons are highly regarded in Sufera and even psuedo-worshipped in some areas, so these traits can gain favour with groups.   Another source is magic from Gonosium, making the sorcerer a being of shadow, using power from the realm of the dead. The God of Death, Gonos, is a favoured god and death is widely seen as a virtue not a curse. Powers from his realm would be considered similar to a gift bestowed to a Cleric

    Perception

    Purpose

Sourcerers abilities are not considered dissimilar to that of Wizards, Artificers or Bards and so they occupy a similar role in society, offering their services for payment or using for purely personal gain.

    Demographics

The number of Sourcerers is not known and could never truly be calculated, with magic being almost innate to all creatures then the difference between spellcasters is too small to accurately measure across such a large continent.
