Celestial Paths
Dimensional Barriers
According to the Sages, the world of Theslia has always had weak barriers between dimensions. These weakened barriers allowed the wizards of the Eldar Civilizations to perform many powerful magics.However, after the Sundering, the weak barriers led to the bleeding of the Elemental Planes into that of the Material, creating the Elemental Regions within Theslia. Many of the magics used in the Eldar times are no longer possible, or work in strange and unpredictable ways. However, one magic that is still documented to work is called the Paths of the Celestial, or Celestial Paths.
Paths
The Paths of the Celestial are dimensional roadways, for lack of a better term. Paths between locations that can be opened by the right spell and travelled along quickly, sometimes near instantaneously.A wizard skilled with the magic can detect any Celestial Paths that are near his location on an Isle, and he has an innate understanding of where the discovered path goes. They can then cast a spell to open the path, allowing themselves and other travellers to flow along it and emerge at the chosen destination.
A given path may only have a few destinations, and some are harder to arrive at than others. A traveller may find themselves off-course, taken to a faraway locale.
System
