Bastiynian Army

The Bastiynian Army is the primary combative force of Bastiynia.

Ranks

Secretary General of the Army

Alt. Title: Secretary
Highest ranking member and commander of the entire Bastiynian Army. Often works with the Senate in deciding nationwide defensive strategies and is responsible for extranational deployments. Officially stationed in Xaicestra, but often travels throughout the nation.

Brigadier General

Alt. Title: General
Each of the three Bastiynian brigades is commanded by a brigadier general. Upon receiving strategies from the secretary general, a brigadier general works with their colonels in managing the logistics and resources between several battalions. Officially stationed in a major city, but often travels throughout the brigadier region.

Lieutenant General

Alt. Title: General
Adviser to the secretary general or a brigadier general. May represent their commander in their ceremonial duties, public appearances, and official meetings.

Colonel

Commander of a battalion and highest ranking member of a fortification or major camp. Responsible for managing training regimens, formulating missions, and deploying companies. Officially stationed in their fortification or camp, and they rarely travel outside their region.

Lieutenant Colonel

Alt. Title: Lieutenant
Adviser to a colonel. Usually oversee the progress of specific training regimens. May represent their commander in their ceremonial duties, public appearances, and official meetings.

Captain

Lowest ranking commissioned officer in the army and the commander of a company. Responsible for instructing soldiers with specified training regimens. A typical field unit is often led by a captain.

Sergeant

A well-trained solider with some leadership capabilities. Generally the commander of a squad and may give orders in lieu of a captain. Small field units may be led by a sergeant.

Armsman

Alt. Title: Private
A basic soldier with sufficient combat training.
