Monument of Voshekth
Constructed within a small mountain range within the Khassis Desert, this ancient monument is a large stone statue depicting the Sorcerer King Voshekth, regarded by many of the Sythssya as being the greatest ruler the nation of Setsymar had ever known. Once thought to have been lost around the decline of the old Sythssyan Empire, the rediscovery of this monument was a momentous occasion for the people of Setsymar, who felt that they had reclaimed a part of their great heritage. Due to such an impressive monument being located so far out in the wilderness, it's believed by many that the statue may hold the key to finding the lost tomb of Voshekth, though the search remains ongoing.
Purpose / Function
This monument was constructed in order to serve as a symbol of the glory of Voshekth's reign in life. Additionally, a number of scholars believe that the monument also served the purpose of marking the location of Voshekth's tomb, though no evidence of its existence in the area has been found yet.
Architecture
The monument is a 20m stone statue inlaid with gold and gems depicting king Voshekth in full royal regalia, gripping his staff in his right hand and holding up a piece of glowing Aetherite in his left hand (evidently meant to represent his magical prowess).
Tourism
Due to its connection to one of the greatest kings of Setsymar, the monument of Voshekth has drawn in many members of the Sythssyan race, from mages and archivists seeking to preserve the history, to kings and queens who wish to reflect on the kind of legacy they want their reign to leave behind. The monument has also drawn in scholars and mages from other nations who've taken an interest in Sythssyan history.
