The Sylvan Order

Since ancient times, the Elderwood has been a place where the Mortal and Fae Realms frequently come into contact. However, this connection between the two worlds has opened them up to dangers that could throw one or both of them out of balance. Such is the self-appointed duty of the Druidic Circle known as the Sylvan Order: to maintain the balance between the two realms, and defend them against whatever threats may rise against them.

Structure

Archdruid: As with all Druidic Circles, the Archdruid is the most powerful druid in the Sylvan Order. As the leader of the Sylvan Order, the Archdruid is at the head of every major conflict with those from either realm who seek to upset the balance, mediates every significant interaction between the Fae and Mortal Realms, and oversees the training, duties, and welfare of the druids beneath them. The Archdruid leads until their death, upon which their successor, chosen beforehand by the Archdruid for their wisdom and skill with magic, will replace them.

Druids: These individuals make up the majority of the Sylvan Orders numbers. Each druid is free to pursue the goals of the Order as they see fit, but they always defer to the leadership and advice of their more experienced fellows.

Culture

Due to the grand scale of their mission to preserve the balance between the Fae and Mortal Realms, the druids of the Sylvan Order don't have much opportunity to interact with those outside their order. Despite this, they do have strong bonds with their fellow druids, and will do whatever they can to aid them.

Public Agenda

The Sylvan Orders priority is to maintain balance between the Mortal and Fae Realms. They also strive to safeguard the natural world, with places that are strongly connected to the Fae Realm being given the greatest attention.

Assets

The Sylvan Order controls a number of glades, groves, and other natural places with a strong connection to the Fae Realm, which has strengthened their unique form of Druidic magic. Additionally, they have ready access to a large supply of Faewood, which they use to create their staves and masks. Thanks to their efforts in safeguarding the Mortal and Fae Realms, members of the Sylvan Order also are welcomed in settlements throughout the Elderwood, as well as settlements established in the Fae Realm, who will provide whatever aid they can when needed.
