Docurion's historical development is deeply intertwined with the Bonneru people's journey from subjugation to freedom. The Bonneru, once enslaved, built much of the city's original infrastructure. Following the abolition of slavery in Sabellis, many Bonneru chose to remain in Docurion, contributing significantly to the city's cultural and economic fabric.
In recent years, Docurion has seen the rise of various successful Bonneru-led enterprises, notably Paradise Textiles, which played a significant role in fostering the city's economic growth. The innovation of a movable type printing machine by Bonneru inventors has also contributed to a literacy boom among the Bonneru and an expansion of their influence beyond the city limits.

Docurion is located in the interior of Sabellis, with varied topography consisting of fertile plains and hills. The city benefits from a temperate climate, making it ideal for agriculture. Its geographical position has also made it a significant trade hub.

Though the city is comprised of a great many Drakoyans, the strong presence of Bonneru here, especially represented by the Parim League - a group politically mobilized towards Bonneru independence, including a bid for sovereign land - has meant pushback on many issues considered status quo elsewhere within the nation. For instance; The use of Nagul, an ancient language once spoken by the Drakoyan Counsa tribe used commonly in religious ceremonies by the Congregation of the Ascended, is a subject of ongoing debate, known colloquially as the "Nagul Conundrum", with the Parim League pushing for a version of the faith delivered in the Bonneru vernacular. This issue has highlighted the cultural and societal shifts underway in Docurion and the broader Kingdom of Sabellis.

Governance

While Docurion falls under the jurisdiction of Sabellis and its leader, Niandrann Davinet, the city is also overseen by an Assembly, an organization composed of the city's nobility. The Assembly works in conjunction with the Parliament of Leaves to manage the city's affairs.
However, the power dynamic in the city has been shifting with the emergence of the Bonneru middle class, notably the Guild of the Harvest Moon and its leader, Mirena Leafsong.
