Mieroy

COLMERHÆD-speaking ethnic group living in Gilmere - the only human inhabitants of the region aside from The Gorog, largish nonhuman brutes who happily live quite far into the frigid land's interior. Their raison-d'etre is basically to act as a bulwark to fend off the Gorog if need be, but as aforementioned there are few true clashes to worry about, the Gorog emerging into human lands almost strictly when food becomes scarce during an especially harsh winter.
As one might imagine regarding such bold souls, the Mieroy have become a highly resourceful and resilient people for choosing to live in both the coldest and most dangerous environment on the continent of Rajan. A "work hard, play hard" mentality also means they entertain life witih wild abandon, playing games, making love, and especially, drinking, all in copious amounts. In larger cities they frequently have to be shushed or otherwise subdued, and innkeepers wince upon their arrival. And because the Mieroy speak with a distinctive accent that marks them as the rugged frontierspeople they are when travelling to more populous areas, such as Aolling, the nearest by, they are usually heard by said innkeepers a mile away, giving them lots of time to board up the windows and lock the doors.
