He has circular glasses that are typically brought down near the tip of his nose, somewhat obscuring his vibrant red eyes.Personality
Lann is incredibly pragmatic and may even be described as cold. His calculating nature and remarkable intelligence leave little room for frivolity. That being said, Lann is known to be a phenomenal speaker. His persona in the public forum is one of confidence and clarity, a self-assured individual who seems to speak the very truth of the world into existence. The people of East Talamh are in slight awe and fear of Kelly.Biography
Background
Early Life (995 - 1016 T.B.)
Lann Kelly's parentage is unknown, but it is understood that he was raised in an orphanage in Domhain for some time. In the year 1009 T.B., the previous Archcastellan of The Spire, Juno Meith, adopted Lann Kelly from this orphanage during a trip to the capital and took him on as her personal ward. Given the option to climb the ranks of the Spire or pursue other life paths, Kelly is said to have been sworn to the Faith at an extremely young age. He became a Pupil of the Spire at age 15 and rose up the ranks with fervor. Over the next 10 years, Kelly began to work under multiple Devoted and Castellans alike. He served as cupbearer for the Archcastellan during many mediation hearings for inter-Clan conflicts. He became fascinated with the diversity and plight of the Talish commonwealth in the modern era after conflicts over supposed segregation in Domhain itself. When the Highclan took the brunt of the blame for this, Lann began aiding in chronicling the following 10 years of dissent under the direction of a faction of Lorekeepers.Monarch's Servant (1017 - 1027 T.B.)
In 1017, Kelly became a Devoted of the Spire and swore himself to Mac Rialor as his patron. He began to edit as well as draft many legal documents and was well-known for being one of the Faith's top judiciary minds. He accepted a special circumstances apprenticeship for the Law of Leagues' Silver Court division and became the official Scribe for the Court. The previous Magi of Mac Rialor, who was also the High Justiciar, began instructing Lann in legal matters to prepare him to become a Justiciar himself.Justiciar (1027 - 1040 T.B.)
10 years later in 1027, Kelly was raised to the rank of Castellan and installed as one of the Justiciars of the Silver Court. Known to be pragmatic and fair, he gained notoriety among the legal spheres of the world as one of the most accomplished judges who was able to settle disputes between argumentative, traditional groups with relative ease. Sometime during this time period, he was assigned to the capitol Domhain and began a strong friendship with Lir Domhain. He served as the Highlord's personal judge and advisor in legal matters, a 6th, clandestine member to the Council of Five. It is said that he became close with Cathal Rigain during this time as well, helping the newly-appointed Minister of Consecration bring his Clan out of obscurity. In 1035, he was installed as High Justiciar, and in 1040 as the Magi of Mac Rialor. These duties would take him away from the capitol but his friendship with Lir remained. The Magi of Mac Rialor (1040 - 1053 T.B.)
On becoming the Magi of Mac Rialor, Lann moved to immediately impose stringent legal changes. In conjunction with the aged and ailing Juno Meith and the Highlord, he introduced revised laws that would discriminate against Fey in more concrete manners than seen in the last century. Policies of extirpation to any revealed Fey were introduced once again and Cathal Riagain's role as Minister of Consecration became almost solely focused on upholding these new policies. By 1047, Lann and Lir managed to introduce legally-sanctioned policies of violence against Fey to the unsuspecting populous, condoning acts that had previously been crimes on the grounds of heightened Fey insurgent activities. The next five years were marked by Lann's personal quest to root out as many Fey as possible in East Talamh. In 1053, he was finally raised to the rank of Archcastellan.Archcastellan of the Spire (1053 T.B. - Present)
As the newly appointed Archcastellan, Lann Kelly began his term by erecting a posthumous memorial hall to Juno Meith, his parental figure and previous Archcastellan. Over the next 14 years, Lann's policiies against Fey would only grow more intense. He reintroduced the concept of ritualized burnings in 1066 T.B., with the first one carried out at the end of that year in a remote vilage in County Or. In the modern day, the power of the Spire has only grown with Lann at its helm, proving that the Faith is still expanding and flourishing today. Yet, disquiet stirs in unseen places. Dissenters of the Spire's new regime are often silenced without ceremony, and Lann Kelly might be to blame.Relationships
History
Lir and Lann met in 1027 after Lann was personally assigned as Justiciar to the City of Domhain by the Spire. Gaining notoriety while climbing the ranks of the Spire, Lann was more than prepared to serve in this role. Lir requested Lann as his personal legal advisor and the two worked together to begin revising and reconstructing aspects of the East Talish legal system. The two began working with Cathal Riagain in 1030 and these three were known as strong friends from then on. Lir facilitated Lann being raised to Magi and High Justiciar in the 1030s. As time went on, the two would move to introduce greater Faith-backed policies against Fey and tasked their removal from the East to Cathal Riagain. In 1046, Lann and Lir were successful in removing policies against Fey violence in East Talamh, a watershed moment for a continent whose populous had grown fat with tension and generational hatred. As two of the most powerful men in the world, Lann and Lir are close friends and advisors to one another. Lir dotes on Lann's every whim while the other is more reserved, seeing Lir as less of a close friend and more of a partner in the political.
