Church of the Eye

The church of the old city, power that speaks there.

Structure

The Council of the eye are the ruling group. They are all powerful followers of the eye, and know the truth about the city. They are powerful in their own right, and have explored outside the city and gained skills and allies that are not native to the city. Below that is the priesthood. Some know the truth, but most are blindly loyal to the eye. The Shadow Dancer enforcers are respected by the church but the priesthood still feels they serve the church directly. Blow that are the regular people, merchants, commoners, everyone that isn't part of the church has no idea of the truth and are told that the city was saved from annihilation of the whole world.

Keep the eye appeased, speak for the eye. Trust the eye. Love the eye.

History

Before the switch, the church existed, and was a cult to some ancient creature, the great eye. They discovered a way to empower the eye to allow it to take the whole city to a new plane. It desired worshipers, and desired the city exactly as it was, as he hoped to destroy the original home of the raven queen, and thereby weaken her. They summoned the eye and told the people that the rest of the world was destroyed a blink, but the great eye protected them.

Demography and Population

99% Shadar-Kai Only the priests and higher know that other species live in the city at all. Those that do are special exceptions by the eye at the requests of the priests because of unique skills or abilities that help.

Foreign Relations

The priesthood does have some connection to other groups and peoples of the Shadowfell, but this is unknown to the populace.

Do as the eye commands, keep the city as it was when he 'saved' it.

Worship

Worship is directed to the eye, moon roofs are very popular in the city, and those that can afford them. Worship to the eye is often accompanied by large smiling, happy thoughts, and adhesion to the "normal" method of living.
