Epiphany of Stabilization
Given the failure of this initial approach, in the last two decades alternative SETI programs have been proposed. They exploit coherent laser optical/IR (COSETI), holographic signals and worldwide web detection schemes, as well as ideas to search for ETI artifacts (SETA, or astroarchaeology) and visiting probes (SETV, V=visitation) in the solar system or on Earth (Tough, 2000).
There are new proposed search schemes based on the application of high-energy (particle) physics detection, such as modulated neutrino beams, X-rays, gamma rays, and cosmic rays, etc. Other search schemes propose looking for artificially generated excess radiation emissions from astronomical bodies in space or for high-energy radiation starship exhaust trails (G. Matloff, personal communication, 1998).
These new programs have been at odds with members of the dominant RMW-SETI program, possibly because of concern over having to share scarce resources or compete with other non- RMW programs for the very limited private funding available for overall SETI research.

Historical Details
Background
The Trenchcoat Brigade discovered this trifold Evidence Collage in the process of being (completed?) (continued?) (expanded?) (created?) on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, in the harbor shipping yard of the Columbia Street Waterfront District in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. It was being processed by a man in a crimson red jumpsuit. He had clearly been at work for a long period of time, possibly hours. His source material came from the archival boxes stacked just outside a shipping container. Discarded strips of pages, microfiches, and archival photos lay scattered about on the muddy pavement.
The miscreant had boxes of material out in the open air, where they ought not be. He has no obvious authorization to have direct contact at all with these materials, much less to have brought such storage boxes away from their proper facility.
After his defeat in extremely brief combat, the man in the jumpsuit was taken into custody by the Trenchcoat Brigade for further investigation. As much as possible of the materials from the board, after quick photography and videography, were relocated into some large manila envelopes so that they could be examined in controlled conditions elsewhere.
Said "controlled conditions" are now the back of the panel van whose sides proclaim Abbey Normal Inspections is present to test a residence for metahuman effects on the home's structure.
