To Be the Fly
General Summary
October 11th, 2003
Field Leader incident log:
Jeremy Ballard, fifteen, has the chameleon power. (Blend In Edition) This is his 3rd offense at stealing.
He has a small box that he'd stashed in a niche. It's thin and narrow, high tensile steel gunsafe. He comes from a wealthy family from Boston who are very glad to have him out of sight and mind. Once witnesses are present, I open it permanently and smell pheremones targeted to the male psyche, with a hint of a cheap French perfume. The box contains a couple of pamphlets for the opening to a night club downtown called The Cave.
Oh, and bonus, a thumbdrive.
Thomas Johnson is the Ballards' butler.
Jeremy blames Brian for having the idea; they were afraid Raymond would bring it back to the school. One of the Raymonds here at the school, Raymond Killingsworth (16), has a problem with never thinking ahead, and therefore tripping into trouble.
The three kids saw Raymond and some of Raymond's friends sneak out one night and come back, and then do it again another night. They couldn't figure out how the jocks were getting out, and on questioning Raymond covered up, so these three geniuses decided to investigate first so they could TOTALLY TELL AN ADULT. They've found a tiny section of the mansion that's fallen out of use, and they've turned it into their own one-room lair. Susie is the science expert, Brian is the athlete, and Jeremy is the ??. Susie tried to synthesize a counter-pheremone. They followed Raymond to a new club called "The Cave".
The Cave is a converted old factory. It's already got a fair crowd even at this time of the late afternoon. Out front are parked a lot of teched-up Harleys.
It's full of FREAKSHOW and college kids. And more ex-military types. Like, one operations team of ex-military types. Ones that answer to Maximus. Ones that call themselves "Ghosts".
What was stolen were personnel files of Dr. Tafey Anne Sinjin-Gironde. And the thief called herself either "Red Widow" or something like "Natalia".

You know how it is, people say, "Come on! ... SMELL ME." And next thing you know, people are stumbling around....
--
Feral: {staring at ex-military bouncer in front of club} You think we should do the polite approach before we go for the breaking things approach?
Doc Reynolds: Yeah ... let's act like civilized people first.
