Emberhand Headquarters
The Emberhand Headquarters are by far the largest building in Fortressia, able to sustain the never-ceasing growth of the Legion itself. It is there where the City Watch mainly operates, where new prisoners are stored before trial, and where soldiers train before being dispatched to their diverse branches and squadrons.
Purpose / Function
Originally, the headquarters were meant to serve as a place of residence for the few soldiers that served in the Legion, but its growth eventually made such a task impossible for any single building. As such, it became the hive, the most well-guarded place in Fortressia from where legionaries go in and out like blood in a heart, pumping military protection to the whole empire.
Alterations
Most bedrooms have been changed into offices, cells or, curiously, both. The training yard has expanded greatly, and shooting galleries keep being built because there isn't enough room for everyone. The Legion has got to a point where they need to buy the land from their neighbors to keep increasing the corridors of their headquarters now.
Architecture
The building's style is so patched thanks to its additions over the years that it no longer resembles the beautiful construction it started out as. While its entrance and reception still boast the pale marble Fortressians adore so much, newer rooms and walls are brown or grey, without as much care in their sculpture, and devoid of most decorations associated with humans at all.
