Description
Camouflaged by a rickety wooden shed, the Cavern of Oozes is a small series of tunnels in one of the taller peaks of
Northcastle. Although underground, the cavern is so high up that the adventurer
Jorvan Silvershade theorized that it was tall enough to escape the
Haze.
Inhabitants
After
Backbreaker's notorious gang, the "Keepers of Northcastle," were defeated or driven out of the cave, the ooze-whisperer
Pudding Pop is the only remaining inhabitant.
Flora & Fauna
As the name suggests, the cavern is absolutely flooded with many varieties of
oozes, including black puddings and gray oozes. Also, according to Pudding Pop, the oozes can consume the light Haze.
History
For many years, Backbreaker's crew operated out of this cavern, looting and imprisoning adventurers and faction agents alike. Many believed that the high altitude of their base protected the gangsters from the Haze, but they were still unnaturally resilient—a possible side effect of mutation.
When
Kapital sought to rescue the prisoners, Backbreaker escaped while many of the gangsters were slain in battle. Pudding Pop, the last survivor, showed the group the way to the prison cells, only asking that they do not do further harm to his ooze companions.
