Yevas & Duras

In 450 Silver, fleeing an unknown threat, a group of proto-elves came to the The Archipelago of Kos under the leadership of Io and her sister Ianthe. Yevas and Duras were both paladins of Seluné/Shar, pledged to defend their priestesses and their people. The exact circumstances of the two paladins before the curse of Seluné/Shar, besides this, are unknown.   When the schism between Io and Ianthe began to intensify, Yevas and Duras tried to mediate between the priestesses and failed. During an argument with Io, the priestess attacked and permanently blinded Duras, which enraged his lover Yevas. Unable to reconcile with their leaders, Yevas took Duras to the Spire, a mysterious tower that seems to have been a neutral zone for those who refused to take sides in the conflict. Sometime during this, the paladins began to feel the effects of Lunar Madness on their bodies.   While hidden away in the Spire, the people there were cut off from supplies and began to starve. Yevas, in desperation, began to feed his blind lover parts of his own flesh, which was now beginning to warp from the curse. It is unknown if Duras had any knowledge of this. Eventually, the two paladins were unable to survive in their warped bodies and fully transformed.   As flesh abominations, Yevas and Duras appear as symbiotic creatures. Yevas's body, stripped of flesh, is a massive skeletal torso with a horned skull. His long arms have scythe-like claws, and he keeps Duras's body safe inside his ribcage. Duras, who retains his ability to cast powerful spells, is covered in thick, fur-like sea grass, still in a relatively humanoid shape.
A huge, cage-like skeletal creature lifts its head, a gigantic horned skull. Its bones are weathered black and brown. Its form may have once been humanoid, but has transformed into a maze of shoulder blades and ribs, with two long arms propping it up off the floor tipped with claws like scythes. Inside of its body is another shape, a crouched figure with its head between its knees. As you look closer, you see that its flesh is pocked, the color of algae, and furred with sea grass. One of its sinuous arms reaches up as though to cup its ear, but as far as you can tell it has no face. (Yevas & Duras encounter in the Spire)
As long as one is still alive, the other cannot be killed, and upon downing one the other will let out an intensely painful psychic scream, damaging everything around it. After a hard-fought battle, Abiyr Arsolum, Gneiss, Alden Blackwell, Bill Stoneheaver, and Katarine de Masque brought Yevas and Duras down. The party had been led to the Spire by Medea, who had hoped that the abominations would kill them. After their defeat, Yevas and Duras's souls were freed by the power of Sune that Gneiss wielded, and the paladin took up Duras's sword Sorrow and Yevas's shield, Sacrifice.

Special abilities

Yevas and Duras, as abominations, were a deadly combination wherein Yevas both defended and attacked with his claws while Duras cast spells at enemies from within his ribcage.
