Grand League
Once the largest adventuring guild across Talora, even being backed by the Council of Seven, the Grand League is now a dark blight on Talora's history. Being overrun by corrupt leadership, this now dissolved faction is looked back on with nothing but distain and anger.
History
The Grand League was the culmination of almost a hundred smaller adventuring guilds across Talora.
Brought on by a push from the Council of Seven to centralize and standardize the business of adventuring, many guild leaders were offered incredible buyouts for their organizations.
Eventually, once the majority of adventuring guilds were set up to report back to a government-backed leadership, the Grand League was born.
Over the 320 years of its operation, the Grand League distanced itself further and further away from the Council of Seven and any other government involvement regarding it's running. Growing rapidly and boldly due to it's monopoly over adventuring contracts, the higher ranks of the league began to twist into more corrupt and greedy individuals.
Finally, the social pressure from abused and displeased residents across Talora forced the Council of Seven to begin a full investigation into the innerworkings of the league, ultimately resulting in its dissolvement.
Disbandment
Once the official notice was given that the league was to be disbanded, a large majority of the highest ranking leaders were immediately arrested. This left thousand of independent guilds leaderless and forced various sized clusters of the dissolved league to establish their own organizations.
Roughly ten different guilds can be directly linked to have come from the remnants of the Grand League, but the League of Obsidian Warriors L.O.W is the largest and most notable faction to come from this event.
