League of Obsidian Warriors L.O.W

One of the largest adventuring guilds to survive the fallout of the Grand League, L.O.W is an officially recognized guild by the Council of Seven.   Spread across the entirety of Talora, this organization is fully determined to dispel the poor perception of mercenaries and adventurers after the embarrassment of the Grand League. While this does not come in the form of charity work or daring heroics, they set their sights firmly on the goal of rebuilding the trust between clients and agents. Holding their word and their loyalty to a customer above all else.

Rules of the League:

  • You may not knowingly break the laws of the lands that you operate in.
  • Other guild members, their belongings, and contracts are not to be harmed.
  • Once a contract is accepted, the customer is under your protection and you may not take part in actions that damage them.
  • Upon accepting a contract, you agree to the amount offered, any further payment can not come from threatening, leveraging, or blackmailing the customer.
  • Guild Master rules do NOT supersede, league-wide rules.
  • Bronze league members are not allowed outside their assigned jurisdiction unless given express permission.
  • Agents should always carry themselves in a way that reflects positively on the league.

Structure

High Commander Highest rank in the order. Has almost absolute authority in dictating organization wide mandates and rules. Spends most of their time handling large scale logistics and political upkeep.   Administrator Elect A Guild Master that is elected by his peers to oversee the maintenance of a large region or single continent.   Elite Rank Agents The highest rank of agent that can be achieved. They no longer pay dues to the league and operate more as free agents traveling where they please. Being paragon examples of the best that L.O.W has to offer, their goodwill and marketing becomes their addition to the guild.    Guild Master In charge of a singular guild within a city or settlement. Having a fair amount of autonomy to change his group to fit the rules or expectations of the lands.   Obsidian Rank Agents A higher tier rank in the league, these members are assigned to the most difficult contracts and held in high regard. While they are mostly free to transfer from one guild hall to another, they must still be under the advisement of a guild master during their operations. Guild fees for these members are 5%.   Steel Rank Agents The most common and middle ranked members of the league. Making up more than half of the order as a whole, the public generally perceive these members as the "standard" for the league. Unable to request transfers themselves, they often find themselves at the whims of the league's needs and demands. Guild fees for these members are 25%.   Bronze Rank Agents The lowest rank of an agent, these members are fresh recruits. Often not staying in this rank long, either being promoted, dying, or quitting soon after their initiation. Operating under the strictest restrictions until they are accepted into the higher ranks, many see this stage in the guild as a practice in "hazing". Guild fees for these members are 50%.

Public Agenda

Following the embarrassing collapse of the Grand League, the League of Obsidian Warriors dedicated themselves to prove to the world that there were still good men to be salvaged from the previous organization. Initially being formed by a small, determined group of obsidian ranked members from the now dissolved Grand League, they develop their structure to oppose corruption and greed to the best of their ability.

Assets

Currently, over 50 years after the disbandment of the Grand League, L.O.W has regained a substantial amount of it's previous holdings.   Nearly every major city across Talora has some presence from the league. Whether that takes form in large, sprawling guild halls that compare to college campuses, or smaller operations run from a single building.   Being one of the largest guilds to recover from the fallout of the Grand League, their resources are vast but spread broadly. If all their resources were pooled, they could potentially form an army to rival a nation, but the likelihood of the spectrum of members coming together for a singular purpose is impossible.
