Brood Kolaghan

Fools believe that Kolaghan’s brood follows lightning storms. The wise know that it is the other way around.
No other dragon or brood is as revered for their speed as Kolaghan and her brood. Emerging from the Dragon Tempets, Kolaghan and her brood strafe the skies of Tarkir with blazing torrents of lightning, hunting down the swiftest prey. Leaving nothing behind but ash and cinder.   The dragons of Kolaghan's Brood are striking in their appearance. Spines and neck frills trace their necks and jaws to channel their terrifying lightning breath. Which, combined with their with their speed, they can draw furrows of destruction stretching out for miles. Of all Tarkir's dragons, Kolaghan's brood are unique with their two pairs of feathered wings. Giving them undisputed mastery of Tarkir's skies.   Kolaghan's brood dragons can speak draconic as any other dragon, but rarely do. For actions speak louder than words.

Civilization and Culture

History

Kolaghan and her brood were at first welcomed adversaries for the Mardu, and their battles were glorious and celebrated. Over time this began to wear the Mardu down.  Having to focus all of their resources toward fighting them deprived them of food, supplies, and rest. They could not wage war and steal from the other clans at the same time. They grew hungry and started to envision their own extinction. Even with all their might, they could not defeat Kolaghan. They decided to stop fighting the dragon and her brood and they accepted her dominion. The Mardu started to ride behind the dragons, following them into their path of destruction.

Historical Figures

Wherever the dragonlord Kolaghan goes, she carries with her the harsh unpredictability of death. Feral and brutal, she enjoys the hunt and the kill more than the resulting meal. The same applies to the territory she seizes from her rivals. Once the assault is over and the land is hers, Kolaghan loses interest. Often she will claim territory only to decimate it with her lightning breath attack, rendering it useless but for the pleasure of watching it burn.
