Caithark Dragon

The largest species of dragon upon Te'za. Stretching not hundreds of feet or meters, but miles. These creatures block out the sun as they pass over valleys and towns below. While most look upon them with general fear from their sheer size, these are often the most passive and peaceful of creatures. Favoring to dine upon the bountiful oceans of fish and other larger creatures. They rarely are involved in warring conflicts on either side and are seen as beacons of knowledge and wisdom.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Wide and powerful wings with extraordinarily large wingspan and length. Body is usually long and thin with soft blue coloration along long smooth shapes with heavy and powerful scales.

Biological Traits

These creatures can live incredibly long lives. Lives and scales of sizes that most creatures on Te'za simply do not grasp. Because of this however, they are few in number

Sexual reproduction, young are hatched from eggs. Period can take over 100 years to hatch one of these creatures

Very slow growth rate. Taking 100 years to be born along is just the first stage of how old these creatures can become. Skeletons have been found, but very few

Worldly travelers, usually spanning vast distances across ocean levels and crossing over continents only to cross ocean paths.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Omnivores, usually scooping up huge volumes of water with fish in tow before expelling it out of the vents on the side of its neck

During the colder months these creatures find a section of water along a beach or coastline that they have found before to nestle in between hunting trips. Otherwise there is very little changes

Matriarchal while young and in groups, but otherwise isolated creatures

History

Crafted as the original species of Dragon from the spirits of sky, these creatures inherited the freshly created and prosperous Te'za. Many many hundreds upon hundreds of evolutionary lines come from the Caitharks to creature all manner of dragons today
