Decker Industries
Decker Industries began as Decker Shipworks over a century ago and soon grew into a global shipping company. The company continued to expand into air freight and, most recently, suborbital transport.
The heir to the Decker fortune, Dean Decker, maintains a minority stake in the business but, as the single largest shareholder, sits on the board and has tremendous influence over the firm's direction. Until recently, Mr. Decker was almost completely disengaged from day to day operations, but he has begun to assert himself forcefully and is scooping up shares and securing proxies to strengthen his control.
