"The child stared up at Talin Sunstrider with his own golden eyes. Yet it was not human, not really. He was looking at a demon. This girl, this thing that was supposed to be his daughter, had two horns on its head and a hooked tail coming from it's back.
He let the priestess take the child from him and he left the room.
Talin didn't know what to do, he felt his foundations cracking around him. He retreated to his study and knelt to the Lightbringer's Altar therein. He prayed to his god for the answers, and in the words of his own oaths, they came. It was the way of the Lightbringer's faithful to foster new life, and so he would. Yet as he stood up, he could not feel more dread."
