Dawn Session 3 Report

General Summary

The session began with the continuation of the battle with the Ankheg. Caspian, who had been sleeping in the cart, woke up in time to witness the second ankheg grapple Zacarius and pull him beneath the ground. Thankfully, Kevos used thorn whip to pull the ankheg back out of its burrow and open it up to ranged attack. After an additional round and a half of combat, which also featured successful "chill" checks from Kriita and Raveena, Erebus landed the final killing blow with his bow, ending the combat.

As the player characters regrouped and healed their wounds, the two figures who had been hiding on top of the farmhouse climbed down and revealed themselves as the farmer and son pair Yumal and Akil Nutesh, members of the farming class of the city of Ahquet. Yumal and Akil had no coin to give the players, but did offer to give them food and shelter for the night. During their stay, Caspian made an effort to befriend Akil, and successfully gained the child's trust.

During the evening, Queen Devil snuck a pair of letters into the pockets of Erebus and Zacarius that read as follows:
Dear Zacarius & Erebus,
I see you guys steal GP from Raveena, Kriita, Kevos,
Queen Devil. Give it back now, 1 GP each person.
Love,
Queen Devil
When Zacarius and Erebus found the letters, neither chose to pay the apparent ransom.

As the players left the homestead of Yumal and Akil, Kevos gave Yumal a pouch containing 10gp, which was far more money than Yumal had ever seen in his entire life. He was extremely thankful.

The players then began their travel challenge, getting 3 successes and 1 failure, earning them the encounter with the bandits. Kevos and Caspian managed to convince the bandits to let them pass for a fee of 4gp, and the party continued without incident.

As the session wrapped up, the players saw a glimpse of Emeric Baykal and his turtle Gammera making their way towards them on the Reza Tariq
