Remember the Blackreach
Remember the Blackreach is a holiday in the Iron Dominion to commemorate the Destruction of the Blackreach by Joseph Dawn in 215 Y.D. The holiday occurs on the anniversary of the event on the 5th of Raindraw.
The practice of the holiday differs from community to community in the Iron Dominion. In areas where nationalist pride in the Dominion is low, the holiday may not even be celebrated at all, whereas in areas where the people identify strongly with the Dominion, effigies of Joseph Dawn are burned during memorial services. In most places, flags are lowered to half-mast, and religious orders in the community will organize a memorial service to honor the dead.
