Shattered Teeth Tribe

Another old tribe, Orcs and half-orcs, primarily trade in weapons. The Shattered Teeth wander throughout the plains as well as the lower steppes outside Erytheia, and occasionally find themselves in the foothills of the Ridgefell Mountains. They are talented weaponsmiths and scour the mountains and steppes in search of rare ores to use in their metal craft. They have one permanent settlement in the lower steppes where the elderly reside and oversee the crafting of weapons using the ore mined by the foraging parties comprised of the young and healthy. They worship Norok.

Naming Traditions

Family names

The Shattered Teeth Tribe pursues a naming tradition similar to the other nomadic tribes in which the oldest, most influential families are "named" and the smaller, less influential -- and frequently newer -- family units are "unnamed." The "named" families have both first names and family (last) names whereas the "unnamed" families utilize a hereditary naming system in which they have a first name but refer to their paternal or maternal forbear depending on whether the tribe is matriarchal or patriarchal; e.g. "Osnet son of Theda."
