Qualifications
Fifteen years of experience and a visible commitment to their service, taking their Oath of Service very seriously.
Requirements
Time served, demonstrated commitment, and a year on the overnight shift.
Appointment
Captains are only appointed by the Chief, or Deputy Chief.
Duties
Their duties differ from precinct to precinct.

They are divided into Detectives, Vice, Armed Protection, Civilian Affairs, and Administration

History
Marketoon is a seaside port town, populated almost entirely by former or future professional sailors. The term 'Captain' hold a lot of weight to them.
Cultural Significance
They are, without exception, devoted to their beloved town. There are plays about historical Captains that performed seemingly miraculous feats of service; such as the time a Cap'n broke an international slaver ring a hundred years ago, or a much more recent one about a brilliant detective with a charmingly self-effacing personality.
