Tallowkeep Airship
In Embers, 5575NG, the F/V Cast Aweigh was launched. It is the prototype design of the newest Headship Nautical Construction Company creation, an airship they are calling the Tallowkeep.
Fit and trimmed out in brass, this masterwork of aerodynamic construction doubles as a sailing vessel for more traditional travel. The hull is sleek and streamlined, allowing for aero- and hydro- dynamics on the fly, and her gas bags are reinforced with woven threads of mithril...a Dwarfish innovation that the Gnomes at the Headship Nautical Construction Company jumped at the chance to use. This mithril thread is important for a couple of reasons. While it is true that the gas bags are very important components of the flying ship, and therefore need the durability to withstand unforseen forces, the mithril matrix running through the fabric turns out to be a fantastic magical conductor for the sunlight-gathering ceramic tiles that are affixed to the outside of the top halves of the bags. The masterwork of diverse disciplines is a first on so many levels, the Headship Companies have devised a museum and guided tour of the construction facility.
Gnomes have been flooding in from the world around to check out the new museum, and give props to the design and manufacturing crew, who have attained the status of cult heroes, and will go on in their careers to make fortunes giving talks and lectures around the school circuit.

An airship, employing a variety of methods of flight and steerage. It uses masts with aerofoils, a gas bag, and gnomish hapdidic lift generators, all working together to keep the machine in the air, and operating at safe parameters.
The vehicles are chock full of gnomish surprises, such as soft-serve ice cream machines cleverly occupying otherwise useless niches, and warm water bidets in the head. The crew quarters are furnished with luxuriant beds and relatively spacious quarters. There is, of course, very little privacy aboard any vessel, but enough can be carved out to make it just a bit more bearable.
