The Second Great Holy War

This war had begun with the advent of the Circle of the Black Star interfering with the Empyrean Gods curses upon the Hellwalker for interfering with their plans for the world and the continuation of the Grand Cycle. This prompted a schism amongst the Order of the Slayers with Aelius Viator, son of the Hellwalker, prompting a rebellion against his father while being empowered by the powers of Empyrea and Sheol. Others would follow suit as many would rebel and plunge themselves into damnation as they engaged in a worldwide civil war against those who believed the Hellwalker to be their savior. 
Over 85 million people gave their lives by the end of the war, which cost about 17% of the world's global population. Nations were devastated and nearly on the brink of collapse, but hope had been on the horizon at the end of the war. The Pantheon of the Black Star had been established along with Apocrypha at the end of the war along with the reformation of the Universale Church to the Church of the Black Star. The sacrifices and deaths still echoe throughout the world along with the cries of agony.
