The Empyrean Gods
The Holy Ones, The Ones Above, The Heaven's Sacred Flying Creatures, The Great Ones, and the Grand Heavenly Thrones, these beings of monolithic power once created the universe after the banishment of the The Eldritch Terrors. They rule the heavens, with all of its heavenly creatures, and the world of Tenebra, with every mortal creature dwelling within.
Those that deviated from what Kagia wished to transpire on the planet, were banished to a realm of darkness and sulfur known as Gehenna. They became the Gods of Gehenna, and they reveled in their selfishness and prowess amongst themselves. Kagia would order several righteous crusades into the lands of Gehenna by mortal and immortal alike to shine light upon those that refused to repent for their indulgent sins.
However, it would be the Empyreans that would see their sins eat them alive. They suffered nothing but infighting and true "death," a state for which shatters their soul into countless pieces and leaks upon Tenebra and the universe, during the The Great Holy War. Now only six gods and one fledgling diety remain in the City of Golden Light, with the hope that they can one day repair their numbers.
After the advent of the Second Great Holy War, many of the gods of the Empyrean Gods pantheon either abandoned their pantheon in favor of the Pantheon of the Black Star, died, or gave up their titles. This has caused this entire pantheon to be entirely abandoned along with its worship and most of its traditions.
