Zamorian

Zamorians are an ethnicity group originating from the Island of Zamora. Zamorians were noted as the preeminent mages of the Age of Archanium and were once the rulers of half of Tengaria with  The Zamorian Empire encompassing almost all the lands north of the Abjarani Mountains.
Since the End of the Age of Darkness due to the Blighting of the Island of Zamora as well as the stigma of Zamorian Magic having led to the calamitous events of the Age of Death, Zamorians are a people without a home. Today Zamorians can be found throughout western Tengaria as nomads in roving caravans.

Religion

During the days of the Zamorian Empire two dieties were considered to be the patrons of Zamora, The Living God Aroden and the All-seeing Eye Nethys.
Aroden is seen as the founder of the Zamoran Empire as it was he who was responsible for raising the island from the Golden Sea and founded the city of Balerion.  Despite Aroden's other projects Zamora was seen as his prime concern on Panaria and Zamorians seen as his chosen people, even giving him the title of "The First Zamorian".
As the power of Zamorian mages grew in power the role of the church of Nethys became more and more prominent in the empire.  With his edict to seek out increasing magical power, the All-Seeing Eye became a natural holy patron for the powerful arch-mages who ran the empire.
Today, Nethys is still seen as an important patron among the magically talented Zamorians as a symbol of former glory and of a dreamed of return to prominence.  In places like Taldor where worship of any deity not in The Seven is illegal,  Nethsian Zamorians are persecuted and often treated like cultist of more malevolent gods such as Lamashtu or Urgathoa.
More unusual is the Zamorian's continued worship of Aroden even over a millennium after his death.  Many Zamorians believe that Aroden's prophecy of leading humanity into a golden age of peace and prosperity has simply been delayed instead of voided as teachings of The Seven teaches.  These followers of Aroden hold out faith that their god will return one day and lead those who kept faith with him into a second glorious age.  In most places these followers of Aroden are looked at as misguided (especially since no cleric of Aroden has been able to wield any divine power since his death in 5:Sixth Age) but are mostly quietly pitted by followers of The Inheritor, Iomedae who has taken his place in the Pantheon.

Apperance

Zamorians are famous for having silver-gold hair and violet-purple eyes, characteristics not found amongst any other peoples of the Tengaria. This can vary from white to silver-gold to blond hair, and from lilac, to deep purple, and pale blue eyes. The most noble of Zamorians were considered strikingly, some say inhumanly beautiful.
