Blackiron, also called
Orcium, is a type of
Iron often found in the mountain ranges of Majik, Volboldir and the Orcish Mountains. It is the base metal of
Blacksteel, or Orcish Steel
.
Characteristics
Blackiron is heavier and stronger than normal Iron. It has a much darker tone and is very difficult to work with. Smithing with Blackiron is a craft generally only known to Orcs and Dwarves, only few human smiths are able to work with it. Only Orcs are able to turn the metal into Orcish Steel.
Usage
Blackiron is mainly used for heavy weapons, not many can carry a suit of armour made of blackiron.
The Ældars used Blackiron for their chains as a symbol of mastery in Ravenry.
The Black Cells of Majik are made entirely of Blackiron.
Aerentis has a cane made out of Blackiron.
