The Slaughter at Felyn

The Slaughter at Felyn was the opening conflict of The Three Days War.

Prelude

Prince Viell ordered Ser Merrick Cayn to kill the arriving Nords who had come to Felyn to settle, after Viell had claimed Careem Stormsword had murdered his father at a feast in his honour. Ser Merrick would meet with the Lord Donnal Merry and the two of them would join forces and ride to Felyn.

Battle

Donnal Merry led the charge against the Nordic settlers. To protect themselves most of the settlers hid in the main hall, which was burned down.   Careem's wife Thyra and son Rolf were cut down while Sigurd was crushed under the burning ceiling. He was rescued by Andor Twice-Maimed and Careem's brothers Thrain and Bjorn.

Aftermath

Merrick wrapped the bodies of Thyra and Rolf, and sent them to the capital where Viell had them paraded around the streets of the city before throwing them into the sea.   Ardon, Bjorn, Thrain, and Sigurd would escape to Lord Frode's estate where they would convince the lord to abandon the King and join their side.   Merrick and Donnal continued to march throughout southern Majik in search for the survivors.
