Farmouth

Government

For the most part, the viscount and other officals leave the rest of Farmouth alone, leaving the city and surrounding settlements to their own devices until a major decision needs to be made(Major decisions are ones that affect the whole Archipelago) or prominent visitors arrive. As of this account(1296), this way of governing has served Farmouth well.

Districts

Farmouth is split into three major portions, all of them aligned with the three parts of the Archipelago.   The first is the city proper. The main city is home to the ports and shipyards, economic establishments, and many of the residencies of Farmouth. Often times, travellers and merchants will spend a few days in the city while travelling between Moorgate and Aetrios. Many tourist oriented establishments were created because of this.   The next portion spands the island within the cresent of the main one. Here, the castle of the viscount can be found. The homes of some of the higher ranked persons can also be found on this island.   The last portion are the settlements on the smaller islands. While not offically part of the city proper, many of the inhabitants consider these settlements to be part of city.

History

After Aetrios was settled, the islands became a major trade center. It is often used as a midway point between Moorgate and the country of Brelimond.
