Draum

The Draum are considered to be distant ancestral cousins of humans, and are renowned for their endurance and physical durability, even into their venerable years. Tracing their ancestors to the mountain valleys of the Kajatopka mountains, little of their origins before the Age of Ruin remains. Often thought of as stubborn and methodical, the Draum have a reputation for their craftsmanship, their martial aptitude, and their tenacity.
During the Age of Heroes, nearly all Draum were eventually enslaved to the Titanlords, and served as laborers to support their territorial ambitions. It would take nearly a thousand years before the Titan’s grip would weaken, and they gained their independence.
Since then, the Draum have fought fiercely to build a new society under their own authority. Many of those Draum organized the creation of Muscovan Union. Others found opportunities further east and abroad in various ethnic enclaves in Estenwald, Turath, Thvisch, and Maeron.

Karrak

Karraks refer to the vast majority of Draum that trace their lineage back to the ancestors of the Kajatopka mountains. Having grown up in the mountain valleys and rolling hills of southeastern Kelta, Draum have proven capable of heavy labor at an early age, and often develop these capabilities with eagerness.

Mordrug

The Mordrug are an ancestral family separated from their kin during the Daemon Wars. While they escaped the enslavement of the titanlords that followed, the Mordrug instead befell transformation by the planar forces of the Underdark and eldritch terrors of the world webs.

Morphology

Draum are defined by their shorter stocky nature, and heavy, muscular builds. Despite superstitious old myths, only male draum grow beards (though females may often have sideburns or hairy arms). Skin tone ranges from white to olive skinned, and hair ranges from black, to blonde, brown and reddish tones.
Uniquely, Draum tend to retain their physical strength and stamina even into their later years. Due to their physical prowess, it is not unheard of for Draum to live over 100 years and still be physical fit and formidable. Psychologically, though, they are likely incredibly stubborn and set in their habits.

Culture

Each dwarve claims ancestry to one of over 200 traditional clans. There are those who scorn a clan name, and except in those clan territories, suffer minor prejudice at best. More modern dwarves claim allegience to the Union, and there is great disagreement among dwarves regarding its role.
