Gjinn
Gjinn are the result of arcane experimentation, and a cruel fate imposed by the last vestiges of the Titans. The descendants of mortal humans, dwarves, and other echinder, the Genasi were created for the sole purpose of serving as the indentured servants and slaves to the Titan lords, and were imbued with some of their elemental powers in order to aide them in their work.
Over the centuries, the Genasi would morph in physiology and culture, and develop a society of their own, albeit still subservient to their titan masters. In time, they would tame the Giants, and carve out spaces and rights not afforded to their more mortal predecessors.
To the outside world, their power as well as their intentions, are not known, but their recent arrival outside the frozen shores of Kjoir has resulted in rumor, trepidation, and curiosity by the civilized peoples of the world.

Basic Information
Anatomy
While the Genasi resemble their human ancestors in basic form and shape, their appearance has been radically altered over the generations by the experimentation and influence of the Titan Lords. With their connection to the elements, the Genasi are almost all conduits of a wellspring of power from a fundamental force of the world. Depending on their affinity, Genasi are said to have skin nearly as hard as stone, hair that is hot as flame, or bones as light as a bird. While no two individuals look alike, to outsiders, it appears as though each Genasi was hand crafted by a loving artisan detirmined to imbue a single idea into flesh brought alive.
Civilization and Culture
History
With most of their territory claimed, the few remaining titans had retreated to the northern region of Kjoir. Yet, without their slaves to work the land, it was presumed that it was only a temporary calm, and the giants would return once again, out of starvation and desperation.
After great deliberation with an emissary of the titans, and exhaustion at the prospect of an existential threat, several of the worlds great leaders met, and would devise perhaps one of the callous treaties ever known. Called 'The Price', leaders from around the world would petition, conscript, and in several cases, outright steal infants by the hundreds, to be gifted to the Titan lords, to do with as they would. By the terms of the agreement, these infants, as well as a temporary surplus of crops and other goods, were meant as the once and last tribute of the Echinder to the Titans, for them to use and attempt to survive on. Should this 'gift' be squandered, there would be no recompense, and no mercy.
Despite most of the populations uproar at the notion, there lacked enough resources to resist this agreement, and so an entire generation of mortals were gifted to the Titan lords as indentured servants. There was no expectation that such an arrangement would hold, and for generations after, tensions broiled at the expectation of renewed conflicts.
And yet, the agreement was held, and the titans remained in their northern holds. For nearly a millenia, every generation lived with the prospect of a return of the giants, and readied their arms to refight the Titan Lords, only to turn their blades upon one another. It is perhaps speculated that the rise of the Turathi Empire was brought about by the collective distraction caused by the threat of the Titans, so much that no single force could stop them before it was too late. And, for all their granduer, the Turathi never set foot on the northern lands. It is not well known if they failed to do so out of incompetence, ego, or fear.
