Guild of Assassins

Overview

The Fraternitus Sicariorum, or the Sikars, are the Assassins of the West. They are linked strongly to key Constellations in the nightsky rumored to be linked to the Assassins. It is said to claim that their methods make them as inevitable as Fate itself when a contract is put on you. Needless to say the Goddess Tyche is said to be the principle divinity follows by the Assassins.

Capra (Demon - of Toxins)

Chimaera (Chimera Poison)

Draco (Dragon - Green)

Maleficus (Witch Circean Witch Class)

Mandragora (Mandrake)

The Elysican Constellations have a far broader range of names and are said to link to different specialisations of the Assassins involved - some being expert houses in spying, disguise, others in forgery, and still others in long term surveillance and recon.

Structure

The Organisation is fully centralised with each city or town rumored to have it's own constellation (guildhall/chapter). The Constellation in turn is said to be linked to one of the fifty-five Flaming Steed Constellations of the Astronomy. There is a Chapter named after each of the 46 Constellations of the Elysian Sky, and another 9 named after the Constellations of the Gygian Sky. It is known that the Gygian Constellations represented are all linked to Poison in some way.

History

The leader, Mawli Hassan I-Sabbah says that he and his entire castle were once in a far off land, and that it was moved by Fate to this Land of Atlantistan for the protection of his people. In searching the new location that they found themselves in the group found a single old man, known as the Flaming Steed of the Stars, an expert in Astronomy who recognised the astronomical significance of the findings inside Castle Eaglenest (Alamut)'s library from centuries of observations. This common link to the stars caused the Assassins to shift in focus to the stars themselves - rather than just fate, and they have slowly built up their influence in different areas of the World - creating a network of 55 Constellations (55 Houses) which operate independently of one another under the framework given to them by Flamsteed.
