The Ring of Val
That is such a nice ring! I'll take it.
The Ring of Val is a royal jewelry worn by the ruler of Valonia that has been passed down though the Rarmon Dynasty for over a hundred years. It's ceremonial accessory they will get during coronation which they have to wear it for the rest of their life.
When the ruler died, the relative must take it out from their finger, storing in the vault until the next coronation. If the heir is not in a proper age, no one are allowed to touch it.
Significance
The Ring of Val is a silver embeded with a large trilliant perfectly-cut gem of Ruby. It was crafted by one of the founders of Kingdom of Valonia.
The first wearer was of course the first Valonian king, Val the Great, in which the ring's name came from.
History
For almost four centuries, the ring had been worn by every monarchs without any interruption. It faced various climate from the hot jungle to the cold ocean.
The legacy also influenced the artisan as well. Every arts and sculptures of them wear this; From the Val's Statue of Wisdom, to the large four on all sides of the Tower of Eternal Light.
Unfortunately, no one ever worn or seen it again in the Empire era. According to the diary of Valus I during the time Valone was fallen to the Empire of Kritus in 30 BVE, while he managed to escape the palace, he saw the general Dominus took the ring from his father's corpse. Although he eventually arrested him fifteen years later, the ring was already remelt into something else.
However, with the help of his memory and some artisans, the replica was remould - and it's better. It has a similar look to the original, but replace the components with a large round hardened Catastropium gem embedded on Amethium ring instead. In term of complexity and rarity of materials, the ring can be very deadly if someboby intending to break it.
Nice tos ee the statues reffered here again! It's pretty dark to have the quote from the moment the ring was stolen at the top, especially since that was the point that broke the tradition but it feels very real to lose such artifacts during a conquer.
