General Summary

3rd Day of Julista, 1762 AC

The boys got sidetracked by a little detour that unraveled into a full blown conspiracy... seems like a common occurance for this group.    Having dealt with the group causing a blockage on the Bonfrau River, the group decided a little R&R was needed while they waited for the riverboat service to resume. However, the bartender of the Red Lady Inn; Jerrin; attempted to perk the wanderlust by weaving the tale of the Red Lady Wager. Coin could be won by investigating a haunted manor and bringing back evidence they had been to the 2nd floor and basement. Balthazar was game, but Sandro seemed reluctant. They decided to decide the next day.

4th Day of Julista, 1762 AC

The team woke up and after a bit of convincing, endeavored to complete the brave task of the Wager. They headed up to the house, but one the way was accosted by a drunk (or maybe pretending to be) man who advised them only terror danger was ahead. The boys brushed off the man and went full speed ahead.    The party entered the abandoned mansion and encountered a strange voice taunting them with coming doom. In fact, it did so many times, repeating the same line over and over. However, the party was disinterested and carried on. While Sandro was concerned with literally bringing back a piece of the house, Balthazar searched around uncovering evidence a weary soul had succumbed to the psychological horrors of the house; and finding the man's decaying body laid out. The man's crazed writings talked about something evil in the basement, so the party went down to check it out.    In the basement they found a foreboding door, that from behind it, a fantastical light shimmered, and strange noises could be heard. But, Sandro's attention towards defacing a lowly cabinet brought the attention of the hidden force within... smugglers!    After a short battle with the first wave, the group learned of the houses secret. The haunting was a ruse, meant to dissuade outsiders from uncovering the operation below. From a captured smuggler, they learned the operation was being run by a man named Klaus Motter, who was absent. Dirt's frustrations about the situation almost caused him to leave his compatriots behind before uncovering the full story, but Balthazar and Sandro pushed forward to learn all they could. In the caverns carved beyond the basement Balth and Sandro found more smugglers and more empty boxes. After a short battle, they learned the operation had been stymied by the river blockage and that Klaus was involved in moving "living cargo". Enraged by this unveiling, the group searches and find's the living cargo; a woman and her daughter. They had been abducted, sold and was in the process of being moved elsewhere. It is hinted more could be found in the "bosses office"   After a "lawful use of lethal force" by Sandro, the group does find out the location of the office, Inside they findan idol to Cyric; one of the The Condemned Gods of Terrania and a collection of damning documents. From these they learned the extent of the smuggling operation and the involvement of Head Customs Agent, Dom Greddleurn. They also learn Klaus might have headed to Vexlorn.    The group returned to the Red Lady to get the full details from Jerrin who was happy to oblige. With wager won, they grouped headed to river docks to hand over the evidence to Donnar and continue their trip Mannerheim .
