Setleth Tzu-Mik

Setleth began making a name for herself in the East Bank Faction of the Maravian house of representatives. She began her political career known as Marin Holmhold and was a mere aid to the East Bank Faction's 2nd in command; Braun Volmsttat. The East Bank represented a major chunk of the city's financial interests. As thus, Braun held various treasury related titles. But, eventually, Setleth and her charm, bravado, and ideas became popular enough within the faction to shift into a much more substantial role. Through the influence of the faction, she gained numerous mid and low level titles and political positions within Kesslar Hall. In 1734, a massive corruption scandal hit numerous high ranking leaders within the East Bank Faction, including the leader Yern Brahmstag and Braun Volmsttat. Without strong leadership, the faction devolved into chaos, but eventually, Marin/Setleth rose to the top, becoming Faction leader in 1735 and moved onto one of the 8 Maravian Council Seats.
With the faction support behind her (as she stacked the decks with sycophants and lackeys) Setleth went on the offensive. Over the next few years she used backroom deals, extortions and murder to push through numerous reforms and bills into law. One of the most important for what was to come was the Bill of Prudence in the Face of Internal Threats. It gave the Maravain Council Head absolute authority in most dire political cases. The purpose was to give the means to the government to crack down on factional conflict and prevent it from overflowing into open rebellion. It was certainly a coincidence that this passed by one vote, a mere few weeks before Setleth won the seat of Chief Minister of the Maravian Council. But her position was tentative at best. Factional squabbling led to Setleth being seen as a temporary reprieve until the other factions (North Wall, Laymans Lane and Central Park) could settle their disputes. Committee notes were clear, the other council members did not trust Setleth, and it seems they were right not to.
With the Kingdom of Pierce embroiled in a civil war, they came to Maravia looking for a loan. Setleth, sensing an obvious opportunity, led negotiations. Knowing their tentative and dire situation, she sprung her trap, locking in a huge piece of collateral; the crown jewels and Pierce throne itself. With everything lined up, Setleth knew it was time for her to strike, and she did in one masterful fell swoop. And thus began the The Setleth Conspiracy .
During the unraveling of the conspiracy, and few things were learned of Setleth/Marin. First of all she was not of this plane. She was a plane jumper and seemingly escaped to from wherever she originated from. Next, Marin Holmhold was an alias, and she wasn't even human, but instead of race called Yuan-Ti, posing as a human using magic. Her rise to power had been through the extensive use of magic; using unknown techniques to influence and manipulate the folks around her.
Setleth's current whereabouts are unknown. After her arrest at the end of the Conspiracy, she was taken by the The Academy of Arcanium and they control her confinement.
