Black Marsh

The infamous Black Marsh is home to many dangerous creatures. The swamps are riddled with insects, hags, and other beasts ready to tear you limb from limb. Many Islanders tried to bring their culture to this region as other races abandoned this effort. Over the centuries, it became apparent that the swamps do not want to be civilized, so only some parts were able to survive through the millennia. Sometimes you need to call for a higher power to get through the day. While there are many small nations or towns/villages in the Black Marsh, there are some countries that were able to thrive. For example, by making pacts with Black Dragons, the nation of Makokou was able to exist still to this day. While others sought to find another way, where swamp plants gained sentience and formed their own nation - Ulthea.
