Stuttgart
Stuttgart is a unique city, being one of the only cities that sits within the Black Forest. A unique deal with the forest means that the city is one of the only settlements that is allowed to cut down a small, selected area of the forest's flora to maintain and protect itself.
The people of Stuttgart are widely renowned for their creativity in a number of areas; you will find the most exquisite jewellery, the most delicate astrolabes, and the most artful poisons are all constructed in Stuttgart. An item marked with Stuttgart Guild stamp will often trade for large sums of money when compared to similar items from other cities. Stuttgart's ability to train up exceptional crafters has been supported by excellent diplomatic and trade connections with Wolfsburg under Herzog Darius and Vizgraf Annie, although that has fallen off somewhat since the Python uprising.
Due to the exceptional level of artesanal skill of the citizenry, the architecture and design of Stuttgart is almost magical in appearance. Astoundingly beautiful coloured lanterns decorate the central market district, and it is easy to get lost in the heady fragrances of the Perfumers' Square. This magical atmosphere is further enhanced by the incredibly varied population of Stuttgart, as some of the rarer kinds of people who dwell within the Black Forest have been tempted to join the lights and bustle of the city.
Leherin and Bacchus have strong followings within the city, as do Lorelei and Kubeth. These apparently contradictory value systems are delicately mixed just like the potions of the Ven Gore Academy, and produce a perfect balance with little in the way of friction between the peoples.
Following the death of the respected Landgraf Villa Ven Gore in 1121, the new rulers of Teutonia Ser Ryker Schnee and Giselle von Murmansk have sent an aristocratic family from Berlin to take over the running of the city. We shall see how Landgraf Diomira Buchardt and her family fit into this beautiful city.
