The Black Forest

In the heart of mainland Teutonia, marked on every map, one will find the expansive sprawl of uncontrollable nature known as the Black Forest. Many stories and folklore surround the Black Forest. Some stories tell of an elderly woman travelling with her hounds punishing all who would harm the forest by burying them alive. Others talk of the forest being a living being capable of great compassion but also great harm. The Black Forest is a constant on the minds of the Teutonian people, a dark and foreboding place where only the foolish would dare to tread.

Civilisation struggles to make a scratch in these lands. Stuttgart remains as the only bastion of civilisation, and it continues to exist seemingly at the Forests will. From Stuttgart the Black Forest Reserve operate keeping the forest safe and the paths between Stuttgart and the rest of Teutonia clear. Other mortals do dwell from the forest, the 'forestborn' as they have become known, live throughout the forest. These people have a varied culture, it would seem the deeper one finds themselves in the forest, the more alien and varied their culture and customs seem to become.
