The Plains of Horstmar
West of the City of Munster, the Plains of Horstmar are an incredibly fertile area of land, fed with water from the Aa and mineral-rich roil runoff from the Ulandi Mountains. The area used to be a sparsely populated marshland comprised of temporary or stilted villages until the Eisenburg family realised the potential for crop growth and hired Dwarven earth workers to drain the swamps sometime around the year 850. Ingenious Dwarf engineers created a system of tunnels, draining the surface water and filtering it through rock formations to create a vast underground lake, which they dubbed Mithrim Mérna (lit. Star Lake) as the water was so clear after being filtered that you could see gems and metals reflecting off torchlight at the bottom.
