Lisae Faer (lee-shay fayr)

Appointment

This differs for each individual-- some people have saved faerfolk and been offered the title, while others have made it their life's work to protect and aid the faer. Generally, these acts of service, like the two mentioned, need to be serious, life-altering actions to qualify an individual for the title.

Responsibilities

As this is a title of respect, it is expected that the Lisae Faer will continue to act with respect and warmth toward the people of Faerbhali.

Benefits

Any thanariyan or enokhian respected enough to be considered Lisae Faer could call upon the faer for help in many ways-- often, this is used for manpower or in a political nature.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Depending on the level of respect and the faer the non-faer individual was working with, the faer may provide the Lisae Faer with an item to remember the favor they owe them or the respect they have for the person. This item can be magical and may be connected to the soul of the faer themself, but more often than not it is simply a token of their appreciation.

Cultural Significance

Lisae Faer are viewed as individuals who "walk the line" between "human"/thanariyan or enokhian and faer. It is one of the few ways that non-faer can be acknowledged as socially faerfolk.

Notable Holders

Kamail is the most well-known living non-deity that holds the title of Lisae Faer. He is personally close with the current and a few of the previous Seelie and Unseelie queens. He is also known to have the Sight, enabling him to see through the Veil between planes of existence. This has aided him in his advocating for faerfolk.
Eizhel of Great House Dara'hal is particularly notable as well because of how aggressively she has advocated for the rights of faerfolk in Faerbhali and elsewhere-- even to the detriment of her own title within her family and Fila Shaan.
