Sanguine Ascendancy

The Sanguine Ascendancy are a group of scholars and hunters that follow the esoteric magicks of the blood to learn all that can be learned about the innately magical creatures of the world. Following the ancient secrets contained in the Blutgeheimnis, a heavily guarded and protected tome from which they draw their knowledge of mutagens and blood magic.

Structure

Rank within the Ascendancy is determined by both a members knowledge, and the extent of their training and capability. All initiates are trained to the same level, but are divided by preference and testing between hunters and scholars.

	Unblutig: The Bloodless, an untrained initiate. All who join the Ascendancy, regardless of capability, will be at this rank until they are demonstrably educated to a uniform level of understanding and basic weapons skill.
	Frischblut: Fresh Blood, a student who has mastered the basics, and has moved forward into learning the principles of blood magic and monster anatomy. A frischblut also begins testing and focused training towards one of two paths- that of the blutjager, or that of the blutlehrer
Verandertblut: Changed Blood, the lowest rank of hunter within the Ascendancy. They undergo the basic, transmutative rites to become blutjagers, and are sent out to learn and practice their skills as hunters, as well as to find a Vollblut to learn from and undergo the final Rites with.
Vollblut: Full Blood, a hunter who has undergone the second, and final Rite, attaining the full scale of their ability and undergoing a secondary transmutation into one of the various paths that a hunter walks.
