Shelmont Stakes
Description
Solem is a bit of a tourist city, and as such, there are many weird attractions to be found. One such attraction is Shelmont Stakes, a racetrack where people gather to watch flail snails race. The races generally tend to take so long that only one or two races happens in a single day, so people will go to Shelmont Stakes to place bets and then get some work done in relative peace. Patrons can be found doing all sorts of leisurely activities in the stands, from reading, to writing, to bringing an entire potters wheel and throwing some clay pots.
After each snail race, the staff of Shelmont Stakes goes to scrape the crystallized snail trails off of the racetrack. Hardened flail snail goo can be used as a kind of anti-magic glass, which has a variety of uses. Selling this glass, as well as other snail products, is what keeps the racetrack afloat despite the fact that it only sees a few dozen patrons every day.
