The identities of the Three Heralds are clouded due to the chaotic nature of those first few years. It is acknowledged that the first one was the mother of Morion Elsineus, the reclusive paladin and founder of Hawkhill Castle. The identity of the third individual changes from story to story and scholar to scholar. The majority of them do not refer to the third by a specific name but by the badge on his or her armor: the stag ascendant in silver.
Some scholars, however, have noted that the Founder's Staff borne by the Archmagister of the Academy of Enigmas was topped with a silver stag. The first known Archmagister was the half-elven Siema al Thoriae and she is also credited with the founding of the Academy itself. The Academy chairs have denied this version of the kingdom’s Founding by pointing out that Siema only came to be well-known in later years amongst the people of the emerging kingdom. If such a claim was true, her identity as the third herald would never have been in doubt.
Other scholars and bards place the identity of the Third Herald as a Young God, usually Pendaros, or simply an unknown refugee who disappeared into the mists of time.
