The Great Migration

Esha’s nature is ever changing, so that the Eshan who forever reign over the world never quite recognize it from one period to another. The wholesale movements of Ebal’eshan and changing of orders between Qadal and Voryndal is perhaps the most significant change beyond the First Feud and Kovûnkal. This is the greatest change of the twelfth cycle. Ancient borders which once divded the two worlds are moot and thus conceptions of natural existence are moot. The events introducing and following this change are articulated elsewhere, but time must be spent expressing the sheer magnitude of the associated implications, lest the value be lost.   Voryndal is well known to be overpopulated in comparison to Qadal, with scores of Eshan vying for the same area as eight might otherwise.   In Qadal itself, being the destination of this movement, a terrible fear was formented among the surviving Eshan. Mesian, the lesser Ezontach, and Ullum were the sole members of this diminished collection, with Ullum himself being an ancient infiltrator from Voryndal. For them, the mere prospect of those chaotic masses pouring into Qadal was a matter of cataclysm- it would be the end of Qadal as it was once known, in peace and relative prosperity. They strove against it, but not without significant strife among themselves. The lesser Ezontach remained wary of any Eshanic machinations since the death of the elder pair at the hands of Zarthum a century ago, and therefore shunted alliance with Mesian. When the tide did come, the lesser pair would stand independent and destroy all trespassers. This left Ullum as the sole ally upon whom Mesian could rely, and he did agree to align himself with her.
