Eldgach

The eldgach, or high elves, have a keen mind and a mastery of at least the basics of magic.   They are often seen as haughty and reclusive, believing themselves to be superior to non-elves, and even other Elves. The reality is that they are just unconcerned about the doings of the other races, rather than openly hostile. They see them as insignificant. That is, until the actions of others become too big to ignore.   Eldgach have pale, almost alabaster, skin sometimes tinged with blue. They often have hair of silver-white, black, or blue, but various shades of blond, brown, and red are not uncommon. Their eyes are blue or green and flecked with gold.   Player character eldgach have the features detailed opposite in addition to the ones they get from being Elves.

Eldgach around the Azure Sea

Eldgach reside almost exclusively in their ancient city of Antaros, a great and beautiful city of delicate design.   One hundred years ago they were at war with the Cerulean Empire, the only time they have gotten directly involved with the affairs of others. The superior mastery of the eldgach, along with their finely crafted Moonborne Warships, ensured victory. However, at the last moment, when victory against the Humans was assured, the eldgach ships surrounding the Cerulean capital of Keymouth withdrew, and the Eldgach sued for peace.   None know what caused them to suddenly pull back, but whatever happened, the consequences were dire for the elven races. The Great Schism occurred and they split, the various factions retreating into their own enclaves. Only the most senior members of the Eldature, the eldgach government, know for certain what happened, and they are not talking about it!   Those events now colour the views of eldgach towards the other races, and vice versa. Eldgach are viewed suspiciously, and rarely seen west of the Hool Marshes.
