Megaera

Megaera is the centre island in the chain known as The Hecatae.
It is a land of ash and steam, covered in active volcanoes, the largest of which takes it's name from the island.
There are two main volcanic peaks, both in the north-eastern corner of the isle. Huge rivers of molten rock run down to the sea, where they disappear in huge gouts of steam and ash, and to the west, where they cool, forming a harsh landscape of sharp obsidian peaks, hills, and knife-like ridges.
Surely nothing could live in such a desolate place?
