Mountain Dwarves

Mountain dwarves are famously strong and hardy, accustomed to a difficult life in rugged terrain.
They are slightly taller than their hill-dwelling cousins, and tend toward lighter colouration.
Many mountain dwarves never head to the surface lands, never seeing sun nor sky, instead dwelling within the stone. Those few that do meet with other races are often accounted surly and taciturn.
Player character Mountain Dwarves have the features detailed opposite in addition to the ones they get from being Dwarves.

Hill Dwarves around the Azure Sea

The mountain dwarves mainly live under the peaks of the Balnoque Spine. Whilst there are many dwarven settlements under the huge mountain range, they are all joined together by the Under-roads. The largest, and their capital, is Koldor's Hold, where King Brakhur Dimmaster rules.
The mountain dwarves are great smiths, miners and gemcutters and their works are highly valued.
Famous mountain dwarf clans include the Runebeards and the Battlehands, who have fought the Drow and their allies for many decades, defending the halls above.
